Billing

Understand workspace billing and how customer billing context powers monitored revenue.

Prevenue has two billing-related concepts that should stay separate:

  • Workspace billing controls your Prevenue subscription and plan access.
  • Customer billing context comes from sources such as Stripe and powers monitored revenue, metrics, and account signals.

Workspace billing

Open Settings > Billing to review the workspace plan, subscription state, usage, and plan comparison.

Use workspace billing when you need to:

  • Check the current Prevenue plan.
  • Understand included limits or plan access.
  • Review subscription state.
  • Contact the Prevenue team about billing access.

Workspace billing is not the same as a customer's Stripe integration.

Customer billing context

Customer billing context helps Prevenue prioritize account-level signals and reporting. When Stripe is connected, Prevenue can use subscription, invoice, plan, trial, payment, customer, and MRR context.

Customer billing context can affect:

  • Account MRR and plan fields.
  • Monitored revenue metrics.
  • Expansion, contraction, churn, conversion, and payment-risk signals.
  • Metrics availability and warnings.
  • Prediction-readiness gaps.

Read Stripe Connect Setup for customer billing source setup.

Metrics that depend on billing data

The Metrics dashboard uses billing data for revenue and customer metrics such as MRR, ARR, NRR, GRR, active customers, new customers, new MRR, expansion MRR, contraction MRR, churned MRR, customer churn, and quick ratio.

If Stripe is missing, importing, failed, or using unsupported currency rows, affected metric cards explain the availability state.

Troubleshooting billing context

If monitored revenue looks incomplete:

  1. Confirm Stripe is connected in Settings > Integrations > Stripe.
  2. Check historical import status and sync warnings.
  3. Confirm customer, subscription, invoice, checkout, and payment metadata include account_id or account_key where possible.
  4. Confirm metrics are viewed in a window with enough completed buckets.
  5. Review Troubleshooting for Stripe and metrics issues.
